Where it all began:

These two love birds met back in high school. Amanda was a junior in search for “a senior to take her to prom” and Stone just so happened to be the right guy. Stone graduated high school and attended Texas Tech University. 600 miles between them sure was tough but before they knew it, it was time for Amanda to apply for colleges. She applied to two of her top colleges Texas Tech & UT. She always has said that she never wanted to be the girl who followed a boy to college, so she was really hoping to get accepted to UT. Though as fate would have it, she was accepted to Texas Tech but not UT. Even though her pride hurt, she realized that maybe she was meant to go to Texas Tech with Stone. On April 28, 2018 Stone asked Amanda to be his forever and the rest is history.

Wedding Morning:

Amanda and her girls started their morning off right by poppin’ bottles and drinking champagne. The bridesmaids wore cute light blue floral robes, with Amanda in a white floral robe. The talented ladies from Paulina Perez, got the girls wedding ready! The Bride chose to have a natural makeup look with a dusty rose-colored lip, with a braided updo with small loose curls framing her face. Soon it was dress time! Mrs. Lynda (Mother of the Bride) & Amber (Sister & Maid of Honor) helped the bride into her wedding gown. The wedding dress was a fit and flare style, with off the shoulder tulle draped sleeves and the bodice having all over lace details. The skirt had a tulle overlay with a sparkly rhinestone belt that accented her waist. For accessories Amanda wore silver diamond drop down earrings with dainty silver diamond necklace. Her bridesmaids dressed in Light Sky-Blue dresses with each girl getting to choose their own dress neckline.

As for Stone and his groomsmen they relaxed and took their time getting ready (lucky!). Stone wore a gray three-piece suit with a white button-down shirt, light brown leather shoes and a light sky-blue bowtie that matched the color of the bridesmaid dresses.  His boys wore the same gray colored suit, white button-down shirt, brown shoes and bowtie, but opted for no suit coat.

Once everyone was in their proper wedding attire it was time to wait and try to relax before the wedding ceremony began….

While the Bridal party relaxed and enjoyed their morning getting ready, OBYC Banquet staff arranged and set the tables with white linen, napkins, glassware, and silverware, all which are included in Oyster Bay’s Facility Fee.  Oyster Bay Yacht Club’s Wedding & Events Manager Cheyenne, and her Assistant Katie, set up and transformed the club for Amanda & Stone’s Wedding Reception. They placed the couple’s personal décor items like their card box, ceremony programs, table numbers, guest book, candy bar, personal monogram on outdoor fireplace, etc., in their appropriate areas at the couple’s request. The items as well as the placement were all brought and discussed at the Finalization Meeting the Wednesday Prior. As well as placed OBYC décor like white metal lanterns, gold mercury votives & vases on tables and entryway tables, along with other décor items. Cheyenne and Katie also checked in vendors, showed them to the appropriate location, answered any questions, and gave them an updated timeline if needed.

Flowers were arranged and created by Let Destiny Design. Destiny arranged the most stunning bridal bouquets. The bride’s handtied bouquet included coral charm peonies, raspberry colored Darcey Garden Roses, Hot Pink roses, Ivory and blush garden roses, dusty millers, silver dollar eucalyptus, baby eucalyptus, along with light blue wax flowers. The bouquet was perfect for their outdoor summer wedding. The Bridesmaid Bouquets included flowers like bright red-Hot Lady Roses, blush & ivory garden roses, blush spray roses, dusty miller, and baby eucalyptus.  The Groom and his Groomsmen their boutonnieres in shades of pink and raspberry colored roses and greenery.

Ceremony:

SDP-WeddingPhotos-55.jpg

The Wednesday before the Wedding, Amanda along with her parents met with Cheyenne and Katie for their finalization meeting and walk through. With finalization meetings we always discuss weather and what it’s forecasted for the couple’s special day. With Amanda & Stone’s day there was a 30% chance of rain for their 4 p.m. Ceremony. While it was a small chance of rain, we all agreed to have the tent for Plan B just in case…I mean we are in Florida after all!

Fast forward to Saturday. The rain chances at 4 p.m. went up as well as a 60% chance at 5 p.m. (right after the ceremony) ...OH NO! The bride along with the Wedding & Events Team, made the decision for Luxe to set up the tent when they arrived. Our team kept an eye on the weather for the next decision, which was where to have the ceremony. At OBYC we love to give the couple all the options if possible. Amanda had four ceremony options. The first option or Plan A was to go with the original seated ceremony at our Marshview Ceremony Site. The options for Plan B were, a standing ceremony at the Marshview Ceremony Site (if it stopped right before the ceremony time), a seated ceremony under the tent, or a standing ceremony under the tent (if the rain wasn’t letting up during the ceremony time). Amanda’s heart was set on the original plan, with a standing ceremony under the tent for plan b.

At 3:45pm guest arrived by personal cars as well as the Amelia Island Trolleys. 4pm rolled around and it was show time! It was sunny and bright but off in the distance you could see the clouds coming. Guest enjoyed live instrumental music played by Wehner Weddings (Violinist + Guitarist) while they waited for the ceremony to begin. Not long after it was time for the wedding party to make their way down the aisle. The groom and bridal party walked down the aisle to Lucky by Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz. Once everyone was in their spots the song changed to Marry Me by Train, and it was time for Bruce the father of the bride to escort his daughter down the aisle. Stone’s Grandmother, Patricia Officiated the Ceremony. They exchanged vows and were pronounced husband and wife. They shared their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. Stone Hayden. They recessed down the aisle to Better Together. Guest were invited to the club house to enjoy cocktail hour while the newly weds took pictures with family and the wedding party. The rain held off long enough for the guest to make their way inside and the couple to take a few photos before the sky opened up. They were able complete family pictures under the front portico, and 15 minutes later it stopped raining to allow the couple to go off and take pictures on property.

Cocktail Hour/ Reception:

After the ceremony guest made their way to the club house where OBYC Staff were there to assist with any questions and point them in the right direction. Once upstairs guest made their way to the verandah for cocktail hour, where Jason from Footloose Entertainment got the party started with a great selection of songs. On the way down the hall guest were able to stop and check their seating assignments that were placed on our credenza wall, as well as sign the wooden guest book.

Butler Passed beer, wine, and signature cocktails, made their way to guests.  The couple opted for a his and hers cocktail option for their guest. Amanda’s was the “Blushing Bride”, a yummy vodka raspberry lemonade cocktail. Stone’s was the “Hayden House Cocktail”, which was the classic whiskey & coke. Cocktail hour hor d’ouvres included butler passed bruschetta & petite blue lump crab cake (with remoulade sauce), as well a fruit and veggie display.

After photos were completed, Mr. & Mrs. Stone Hayden were introduced to the crowd and went straight into their first dance. They danced to Then by Brad paisley. Right after it was the Father/Daughter Dance where they danced to Dancin’ on Daddy’s Shoes by Leon Redbone. This song was very special to the bride and her father because they would dance together when she was little to this song. Stone and his Mother Shawna danced to Don’t Blink by Kenny Chesney. After all the sentimental songs there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

Father of the Bride Bruce said the welcome and blessing and everyone then sat for dinner. The bride and groom had their own plated meal served to them, as well has a staff member assigned to their table to assist and make sure their cups and bellies were full. Guests enjoyed artisan greens salad, buttermilk fried chicken breast fillets, sautéed Fernandina shrimp and grits, Gouda mac and cheese, garlic mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans, and fresh broccoli, carrot & cauliflower medley sauteed in a butter wine sauce. The buffet and food were such a hit that let’s just say that guest went back for seconds and thirds.

Soon it was time for toasts and cake. Hunter the groom’s brother and best man, as well as Amber the bride’s sister and maid of honor gave their toasts the happy couple. The beautiful 3-tiered butter cream cake was made by Publix in Yulee. Once the cake was cut and served it was time for everyone to jump on the dance floor and shake it.

The last few hours were filled with laughter, dancing and wedding fun. The bride and groom opted for the garter & bouquet toss, as well as Amanda and her sorority sisters singing their sorority’s traditional wedding song.  The last group song of the night was Sweet Caroline, followed by Jason asking guest to make their way downstairs for the grand exit. Once all the guests were downstairs the newly shared a private last dance on the dance floor to Perfect by Ed Sheeran. They then made their way downstairs where they then ran through a tunnel of sparklers into their getaway car.

And then they lived happily ever after……
