Oyster Bay Yacht Club hosted their first ever “Sip + See Bridal Expo” on July 14th, 2019. The free event was created to allow local brides and grooms in the area the chance to meet local vendors one-on-one and current OBYC Brides the opportunity to visualize how their wedding day could be. Brides and Grooms were also able to set up a meeting with vendors to discuss what they were looking for their wedding day. One Local Vendor from each category came and set up a booth show casing what they offer.

Luxe Party Rentals showcased some of their rentals at our Marshview Canopy Ceremony Site, such as their framed draped arbor with white linen draping, along with their Wood Cross back Chairs that lined the aisle. As guests made their way to the clubhouse, under the portico housed two classic cars from Amelia Classic Motorcars. Selena & Richard gave couples fun facts about their cars and answered any questions that they had. Moving into the club and up the stairs, guests were greeted by the Oyster Bay Yacht Club Wedding & Event Manager & her Assistant. They welcomed guest, answered any questions, and gave tours of the space. Couples also filled out “guestbook” like their family and friends would on their special day.

Walking into the Commodore Room were all our beauty, photography, and wedding attire vendors. Lori with French Novelty, a Formalwear Boutique located in Jacksonville, Florida, brought in the most gorgeous blush bridesmaid dresses with gray tulle overlay for our brides to see. Beauty Within: A Bridal Boutique, located in Fernandina Beach, Florida, displayed the three most stunning wedding dresses you have ever seen. The owner, Becky and manager Chris were there to talk to brides about what dress they have envisioned for their special day. The Porcelain Bride, Megan Whalen, a local Jacksonville Makeup artist, demonstrated a bridal makeup look on two models. The bride’s makeup was a neutral eye with a bold red lip, while the bridesmaid’s makeup was a neutral eye with a neutral lip. Nic Studios, a local bridal hair & makeup artist, created two boho fishtail braid looks on both models.  The talented Jen Mosley with J. Mosley Photography displayed her stunning wedding photos which included those that were taken at Oyster Bay Yacht Club.

Walking through the doors into the Main Dining Room guest were able to visualize one of our classic table layouts for the reception. The sweetheart table was decorated with plates and goblets from Dish It Out Amelia along with driftwood, flower and bud vases from Let Destiny Design. Just in front of the sweetheart table, located under our iron wheel Chandelier sat the dessert table, filled with sweet treats from Bliss Cakery located in Yulee, Florida. Couples were able to taste their delicious mini cupcakes with flavors like Fresh Strawberry, Wedding Cake, White Chocolate Raspberry, Peanut Butter Cup, and Red Velvet. On our large rectangle tables, located on either side of the sweetheart table, Dish It Out Amelia showcased her vintage goblets and tableware for the perfect custom table settings. Let Destiny Design decorated the reception tables with bud vases that had individual flower blooms like tulips, stock, lavender and white roses that were nestled between pieces of driftwood.

Keeping the party going outside on the Verandah was DJ Will Deaton with Resort Talent was spinning on the ones and twos. He has a vast knowledge of music that enables him to read and react to audiences of all ages and musical tastes. Pastor Bob Hovey with First Coast Ceremonies, a wedding officiant, chatted with couples about what he offers for ceremonies, as well as pre-marital coaching, and complementary dance lessons (if needed!). The lovely ladies from Residence Inn Amelia Island by Marriott talked to brides and grooms about hotel accommodations and room blocks. Adam with Luxe Party Rentals, talked to brides about what they could add to their wedding day, from an array of different ceremony arbors to market lights above the pool.

Overall we want to thank all the wonderful, talented vendors that helped make this event possible. As well as the lovely couples and their families that attended our first event.  We truly appreciate it. Stay tuned for our next Sip & See coming soon!
