Our members have quickly become fast friends, many socializing and getting together for cookouts, bowling, boating excursions or just a glass of wine at the Tiki Hut on the weekends. The atmosphere is warm and friendly and has a true small town charm.

1. What is Oyster Bay Yacht Club?

Oyster Bay Yacht Club (the "Club") is a member-owned private club, which offers its owner members a unique opportunity to enjoy its recreational facilities.  The Club is located in Fernandina Beach, Florida, featuring exceptional marina, clubhouse, swimming and social facilities. 

2. What is a Member Owned Club?

In a member-owned or equity club, each Equity Member has an ownership interest in the club similar to the ownership of stock in a corporation.  This type of club permits its Equity Members to control their club through the right to vote.  The Club Facilities are operated and managed under the direction of a Board of Directors ultimately elected by the members.  Major issues are generally decided by the vote of the Equity Members, such as capital assessments and amendments to the Membership Documents.

3. What are some special features of membership in the Club?

Immediate Family Privileges, Extended Family Privileges, Legacy Transfer, Inheritability, Club Newsletter, a Member-Only portion of our website and much more!

4. To whom will memberships be offered?

Equity Social Memberships may be offered to initial purchasers and owners of residences or homesites in the Community and persons who do nnot own residences or homesites in the Community.  Nonresidents of the Community will be selected in consultation with an advisory Membership Committee in accordance with the Transfer Agreement and the Bylaws.  Each person desiring to purchase an Equity Marina Slip Membership must acquire and maintain an Equity Social Membership and own a residence or homesite in the Community.  An Equity Marina Slip Member who acquires more than one marina slip must acquire a separate Equity Social Membership for each slip.

5. How do I become a member?

You must submit a fully completed and executed Membership Application and Membership Purchase Agreement and a check for the required membership contribution.

6. Does Oyster Bay preserve its natural landscape?

Yes. The Oyster Bay Property Association is a non-profit corporation designed to protect the beauty and integrity of Oyster Bay Harbour. The OBPOA consist of a governing board and several committees devoted to preserving the natural landscape of the community while simultaneously maintaining fiscal soundness and promoting an active social atmosphere.
